    • Client based replication

Just a quick question.  A sales guy was trying to tell me there is a client side licence that can be used to replicate VMs to a site without a ZVM in the protected site.  is that possible?  i can’t find any documentation to support this statement. the question is based on how we can […]

    • Move my ZCM to new vCenter?

Hello, I would like to move my Zerto Cloud Manager to a new vCenter. It will keep the same host name but get a different IP address. Any reason I cannot do this with a Zerto Move? I’m only use it internally for my 5 connected vCenters (no connection to any off prem clouds). Thank […]

    • Encrypted datastores

Hi. Should be a simple question but I cannot see the answer in the KBs… Can anyone please advise… Does Zerto still work when the source VM is in an encrypted datastore in VMWare ESXi 6.5?   Thanks Darren

    • Change target host

One of my hosts in the DR datacenter is offline and wont be back up for a while.  My VPG is in an error state because of it.  All I need to do is change the Recovery host on a couple VMs, but I can’t edit the VPG. How do I get past this ? […]

    • Can't edit VPG.

So I edited a VPG to remove one vm and add another.  That worked great.  But now the edit and delete option are grayed out.  VPG is caught up.. in green  but again all grayed out.  I checked from both sites. Zerto Version 6..  Vmware.

    • Debian version

I need the the version of Debian Zerto uses for security reasons, also how the OS is updated and where the list of addressed vulnerabilities is located… I have an old version of Zerto that has pinged up on a pen test as out of date, I just need to know the latest is up-to-date […]

    • Thoughts on moving Zerto to all appliance based?

As I wait in my silo based organization for Windows VM’s to be deployed so I can install Zerto mgt VM’s, I think maybe it would be a good thing to either move to an appliance based OVA/OVF for Zerto. This gives Zerto more control over configuration and less onus on the customer to deploy […]

Does anybody have the upgrade process of upgrading from 5.5 to 6?  How long does this process usually take/ how much downtime is expected? Thanks!

    • When do you need a new ZVM?

So I have three vCenters with a ZVM in each.  I use it to replicate between three main sites.  I also have a few remote locations that I am going to start using on a temporary basis.  What determines whether or not you need a new ZVM?  These are hosts in a vCenter that already […]

    • What Storage will be used for backups data?

I am new to Zerto. Having a basic question. What Storage Zerto will be using to store backup data? I assume it could be separated from the storage where Datastores reside on. If you could provide Docs with this regards?   Thanks,

    • Discard changes from a live failover test or move.

We are replicating two sites, vmware to vmware.  Is there a way to failover or move a VPG live, then after the test is over discard the changes and fail back?  My first choice was going to be to do a test instead of a live failover, but our environment isn’t going to allow us […]

    • Protecting Zerto itself

I’ve asked this question to the forum and my internal Zerto contacts on several occasions. As we know Zerto does a great job of protecting our virtual infrastructures. However per Zerto best practices we are not supposed to perform backups of ZVM’s nor can we protect ZVM’s in a VPG. I usually hear things like […]

    • Export of VM/VPG data?

Hi, We’re embarking on an effort to point most of our VPG’s to a different vcenter/cluster/storage/network. With our Standard licensing it appears we have to rebuild all the VPG’s (close to 200 VPG’s).  I’d like to get a clean export of VM to VPG data along with configuration info such as failover network. Worst case an export […]
