    • Offsiteclone fails due to not synchronized VPG

Hey Guys, after some internal network problems, we need to create an offsite-clone of a corrupted vm. Currently Zerto is performing multiple bitmap-syncs of different VPGs including the one in which the mentionend vm resides in. After the cloning operation ran for at least 8 hours it failed with an error that states, that host […]

    • Datastore Cluster are not visible in ZVM

After installing ZVM and going to SETUP => DATASTORE Tab I cannot see any datastore that belongs to a datastore cluster in vmware environment. Datastore that are not part of datastore cluster configuration are visible. I noticed that this symptom occurs only when adding datastores to a cluster datastore. If I remove them from cluster […]

    • Detect new unprotected VMs

What I’m looking to do is somehow detect when a new VM has been created, and alert me, so I can determine if this new VM needs Zerto protection or not. I’m in a small shop where multiple people can create VM’s, and if I don’t know about it, Zerto protection won’t get configured. Has […]

    • Cancel Failover From vSphere

If a failover task (VMWare to Hyper-V) is cancelled in vSphere, in the “Failing Over Before Commit” stage, the task is still showing as running in Zerto.  Is it really running? And if so, what is the proper way to “cancel” a failover, since all of the options are grayed out?

    • The VPG test / live failover Commit needs delay.

In a vCloud environment when you do a VPG test / live failover or a move, the ZVM will sort out the task and then it will prompt you for a Commit.  If you agree too quickly to this prompt it will fail because it can’t find the VAPP/VM changes in the source/destination vClouds because […]

    • vCenter Enhanced Link Mode & Zerto

We’re looking into using vCenter Enhanced Link Mode to provide a unified management and credentials management for our vCenter servers. They’re all appliances with embedded PSC’s.  Are there any Zerto gotchas in that environment? I don’t expect there to be, but doing our due diligence.

    • copy BIOS UUID

Does the “or incoming replication, copy the BIOS UUID of the protected VM to the recovered VM” setting work with existing VPGs, or only for new VPGs created after the setting was put in place?  Does it work for test failovers, or just live failovers?

    • Difficulty seeding VPG on high perf infra and L2

I’ve dealt with seeding VPG’s to remote sites before but am finding issues with high change rate VM’s replicating from on vCenter to the other in same data center. VRA’s on on the same L2 network. Temp disk is enabled for tempdb. VRA’s are configured for 2vCPU/12GRAM. This is All flash vmax/pmax storage on UCS […]

    • Combination of vsphere replication and Zerto.

Hello I have a question about Zerto specification. Is it possible to use vsphere replication in the following order? I know that it is unable to protect VMs that using vsphere replication at the same time with Zerto. 1. Protect a VM with a VPG of Zerto. 2. Finalize initial sync of the Zerto. 3 […]

    • Upgrade VRAs manually or automatic?

We’re looking at upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0U3.  Our protected environment is ESXi 6.5 and the DR site is ESXi 6.7.  Both are running vSphere 6.5.  I see that during the upgrade you have the option of upgrading the VRAs either manually, after the ZVM upgrade, or automatically during the upgrade.  I was wondering which […]

    • vRealize Operations Manager

Are there any plans to release a management pack for Zerto integration with vROPs? I assume that since Zerto alarms are logged into the vCenter that they can be detected via vROPs?
