I’m opening this question on behalf of Steve. H:
When protecting VMs from vCenter to AWS are they thin provisioned in AWS?
And is this the case if the VM is thick provisioned in vCenter?
Hello,
Contara from Zerto Support.
In the VPG Storage section, there is no selection to mark the storage as “Thin”, only “Temp”. So, S3 does not allow Thin/Thick selection.
See page 156
Thank you.
Thank you for the reply,
To clarify, if a VMDK in vCenter is thin provisioned to 1tb but only using 100gb within the OS, how much space will this use up in AWS? 1TB or 100GB?
The same question for if the VMDK in vCenter is thick provisioned at 1tb, but only using 100gb within the OS, how much space will this use up in AWS? 1TB or 100GB?
thanks,
