we are migrating from hyper-v to vmware but the server change their IP from static to DHCP and we have to manually accessing the servers to set the IP again
I already forced from NIC options to set the IP static but no change
A little bit late but we experienced a similar issue:
We changed the network adapter type of dozens of windows vms from e1000 / e1000e to vmxnet3. Some went just fine and kept its configuration and a few of them just loses the configuration. Seems to be a problem for windows to recognize that this is the same card, as it creats a new id for those adapters and therefore loses its configuration…
