Multiple vCenter replication pairs

  • Hello all,

    Could you guys please let me know how many Zerto nodes are required for the following setup:

    Number of sites: 3 (A, B, C). All sites are considered as active and recovery sites for one of the other two.

    Number of vCenter servers per site: 2 ( Management, Compute)

    I am planning to create the following replication pairs:

    A-Mgmt -> B-Mgmt

    B-Mgmt -> C-Mgmt

    C-Mgmt -> A-Mgmt

    A-Compute-> B-Compute

    B-Compute -> C-Compute

    C-Compute-> A-Compute

    With SRM, this would require 12 SRM instances (2 SRM instances required for each replication pair)

    What is the minimum amount of Zerto nodes require to support this setup? Would 3 instance suffice (one for each site)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

    You would require one ZVM per hypervisor management server (vCenter, in your case), so it sounds like you’d need 6 ZVM servers if I’m not mistaken. ZVMs are not licensed, and you could potentially take advantage of Zerto Cloud Manager (ZCM), the manager of managers, to have visibility across all sites together.

    Also, don’t forget about the Zerto Analytics portal in myZerto or on Zerto Mobile to give you visibility (and correlation/analytics) across all your sites as well!

    Thanks for stopping by!
