SQL Server Indexing

All,

We have a SQL Cluster consisting of 2 nodes, active/passive. We have followed the best practices guide and have configured the servers with an operating system disk, tempdb, paging, data, logging disks. The tempdb and paging disks are set to temporary disks. When nightly indexing happens, we see massive amounts of changes that our WAN can’t simply keep up with. How have you all dealt with nightly indexing?

Is it possible to use something such as Citrix Netscalar WAN optimizer?
